Bayern Munich began their Champions League campaign in emphatic fashion, thrashing Viktoria Plzen 5-0 at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

The German champions were relentless from the start, with Sadio Mane opening the scoring inside 10 minutes. Goals from Thomas Müller, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané and an own goal from Plzen goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk completed the rout.

Bayern's victory was their biggest in the Champions League since their 7-0 win over Barcelona in 2013.

Real Madrid Win Away at Celtic

Real Madrid got their Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory at Celtic on Tuesday.

Vinícius Júnior, Luka Modrić and Eden Hazard scored the goals for Real Madrid, who were in control throughout the match.

The victory was Real Madrid's first win in the Champions League since they beat Liverpool in the final in May.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Núñez, Thiago Alcântara and Luis Díaz scored the goals for Liverpool, who were too strong for Napoli on the night.

The victory was Liverpool's first win in the Champions League since they beat Real Madrid in the final in May.
